We’ve been asked by many customers to come up with some home improvement tips on how to renew old and worn out exterior walls. So we’ve decided to compile all our tips into one neat little blog post.
Home renovations are often triggered by the need to solve a structural problem, pipe leak or general maintenance. It is important to note that in order for a house to look neat and well kept these renovation essentials should be paired up with aesthetic upgrades to the exterior walls. Below is a list of some home improvement tips with which you can really renew the look of your home’s exterior.
Stucco and Stone: Combining stucco and stone veneer has never been more exciting, with revolutionary new textures and shapes being produced the possibilities are truly endless. Stucco and stone veneer have always worked really nicely together. The stucco’s muted colours and subtle texture help the stone veneer create an accent through shape and colour. Pairing up stucco colours with appropriate stone veneer colours is where themes are created. Try choosing a stucco colour that reflects the hue of the stone veneer. If you’re working with Sante Fe coloured Classic Cut stone for example then a muted sandy yellow colour would work well.
Moulding: There are already many ways of combining the two products but the customization and personalization options are now multiplied with the introduction of Decorawall stucco constructions. Decorawall specializes in manufacturing custom and standard architectural detail products for residential and commercial spaces. Their products include a wide range of sills, trims and midbands that will really add a touch of elegance to the exterior of your home. This style involves using these specialized architectural products to complete and compliment the stucco finish. The sills, trims and midbands can even be matched to correspond to the colour of the stucco exterior. All products are made of pre-formed polystyrene foam material with a texture that even works with pre existing stucco.
Stone Veneer: Of course, last but not least, is going the full stone veneer route. This method works well if there is a protruding area or entrance way on the outside of your home. It’s best to cover the entire area with the stone veneer product of your choice and leave the remaining area with it’s original texture. Alternately, if the entire exterior is in need of a visual boost then use stucco as the finish.
Combining all of these home improvement tips and using elements from each can really transform the exterior walls of your home.
